Got much of my stuff stowed and have a bunk. A tiny. Tiny. Bunk. Hear the food is good and plentiful though.
My first job was to start this blog. Got some suggestions for sweet names for it. Here are some of the ideas:
- Sponge Vince Greenhorn pants (Thanks, Mr. Buckland)
- Teaching History: Brig it on! (Thanks, other Mr. Kwiatek)
- Vince's Excellent Sea Venture (Thanks, Mrs. Kwiatek)
- Ain't no Sharks on Lake Erie & This Ain't the Indianapolis (Thanks, Mr. Buckland, again)
- Lesson Plannin with Poop Deck Pete (Thanks, Mr. Kapustik)
- Cap'n Kwiatek and the iPatch App (Thanks, Mrs. Kapustik)
I don't have any photos yet but hope that will start soon.
The boat is covered with a giant tarp and our first job starting tomorrow - muster 08:30 - will be to take it off and stow it. Should take a couple of days. Then we will start putting up the rigging.
Met a bunch of the crew. They have personality and seem nice. I am old. I think I am older than the captain.
Ahoy.
After a sometime, you can say seasoned instead of old. It suits you so much better.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Keep the updates coming. That has to be one huge tarp!
ReplyDeleteHaving grown up in Annapolis and the surrounding boat yards, it's great to read some of the old terminology but I must admit that I am a little out of practice!
